The Tsunami of Christmas 2004 has opened new doors for the church in the country of Sri Lanka. It has become obvious that medical ministries are of major importance in this area, because people are too poor to use available services. For this reason we have started a community based health care program in the Tsunami affected area and also serve people around the Tsunami Rehab Center. This gives us the opportunity to touch the lives of marginalized tea estate workers since the center is located in one of the poorest areas of Sri Lanka.

Vast parts of rural India lack decent health care. Even if medical personnel are responsible it doesn't mean they will do their job. Preventative care is not necessarily something people know of and thus many suffer or even die who could easily be helped. Most of the work of the Church of the Nazarene is in the rural areas and therefore with people that are particularly disadvantaged and neglected. All over the country medical mission teams could make a major difference and share the love of Christ in practical ways.

    Date: To be Announced
    Bangladesh - Medical Mission Teams
    Team Leader: Nathan Biswas
    Email: bnm@nazarenebd.org

Bangladesh is one of the poorest countries of the world and the Church of the Nazarene serves here among the poorest of the poor, rural people that are disadvantaged and marginalized. Dozens of programs for child development, community based health care and individual village doctors love to welcome you and share the love of Christ in practical ways. And many, many are responding to that love and to the offer for a future with hope.
